Trent Brock is a television news producer. His managers describe him as "an exceptional producer who brings or emails story ideas - even on a day off. Add to that, creative writing, good communication in the newsroom and the booth, and is quick to jump in and help others - no matter how busy he is. Trent is always positive and shows respect to everyone."
Trent graduated Summa Cum Laude from Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcasting with an emphasis in Broadcast News. He's also earned his Master of Science from WKU in Sport and Recreation Administration with an emphasis in Sport Media & Branding.
Trent is an Army Brat who has lived in areas such as Kansas, Texas, Germany, and Hawaii, but proudly calls Fort Campbell, Kentucky home. Trent says being a journalist has been his dream job for as long as he can remember. Trent remembers growing up in Hawaii watching KGMB and "playing newscast."
Trent was awarded a place on the Kentucky New Era Regional Academic All-Star Team in the discipline of Journalism his senior year of high school for his contributions as a producer of his high school's news program, editor-in-chief of his high school’s yearbook, and as the morning announcements reporter.
Former NBC president, Julian Goodman, recognized Trent's dedication to broadcast news by awarding him the "Julian and Betty Goodman Scholarship in Broadcast Journalism" in 2011 and 2012. The award is based on academic success, potential in leadership, possession of the personal qualities of character, integrity, concern for others, and citizenship.
In April 2012, Trent was awarded "Honorable Mention" in the "Best College TV Hard News Feature" category at the Kentucky Associated Press Broadcasters Awards for his "Illegal Tattoos" report. For three weeks in May 2012, Trent studied abroad in Germany. The focus of the trip was studying the German media in Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne, Bonn, and Frankfurt.
Trent has also received recognition from ThanksUSA and the Army Scholarship Foundation for his commitment to broadcast news and military families. Trent has appeared in promotional videos and publications for WKU Admissions and Information Technology departments. Trent is also a graduate of leadership programs in both Hopkinsville, Kentucky and Clarksville, Tennessee.
In his free time, Trent enjoys exercising, traveling, visiting theme parks, photography, attending live events, watching TV, soaking up warm weather, and volunteering in the community.
